There should be a script for that or something

eta: mass approval, not the giving a fuck part. That doesn't need any effort.

there doesn't really need to be a script, requiring approval is a setting that can be flipped. not be me, though.

well i had to bug him to put that setting in place to begin with because i didn't want to deal with spammers, but since i don't care either, it's not like i'm competing with him here.

I just checked and there were another thousand or so spambot registrants in the waiting for authorization group. I deleted them all. If you ever know a real human being signed up for reals, send me a PM and I'll let 'em in.

I'd like to install some add-ons that turn most bots away before they get through the registration process, but I don't have the necessary access to install stuff.

why doesn't Matt give them to you?

just promise us you won't accidentally delete the website, because RnR is a real life irreplaceable treasure.

It's like GOP gerrymandering. Matt knows that if there were a level playing field, all the internet's best posters would flock to RnR instead of his preferred forums.

Except what he doesn't realise is that the forums he posts on are populated exclusively by the internet's worst posters anyway so it wouldn't actually make any difference.

I asked him. I got the impression he meant to give me the necessary access, but might not have thought out the implications.

ravenscape wouldn't delete us all, guys.

we may have been hurt by admins in the past, but we mustn't let that destroy our hopes for the future.

I have been told that there is a large DELETE WEBSITE button in the sysadmin area and it is very easy to accidentally press it.
