For those interested, here's a list of the roles, commentary to follow.

The Good

Player: Beyelzu

Name: James Bond (Sean Connery)

Role: Retired Cop

Role description: You were the first 007, and you're the best. You've been out of the game for awhile now, and retirement agrees with you -
but you've still got some fight left, so if they need you, you'll be ready!

Role details: If an active cop dies, you come out of retirement and take over his role. If this happens, you may investigate a player each night.

A viewing will return a result of guilty (anti-town) or innocent (pro-town). I will PM you when you are to assume your new role.

If you become the HSO, you lose the ability to view.

Side: Pro-town

Victory conditions: You win when there are only pro-town players remaining.

Player: Sarpedon

Name: James Bond (Sir Roger Moore)

Role - Gunsmith (flavor cop)

Role description: You might be the oldest Bond, but you can still show these youngsters a thing or two. While your skills might not be
as sharp as they once were, you can still help take down the bad guys!

Role details: You may view one person a night, to see if that player owns a weapon. (Mafia, Cops, Vigilantes, Army Vets, Serial Killers, for example.)

If you become the HSO, you lose the ability to view.

Side: Pro-town

Victory conditions: You win when there are only pro-town players remaining.

Player: Ishmael

Name: James Bond (Timothy Dalton)

Role: Townie

Role description: You are all business. Women, gambling, you'll leave that to the other guys, you just want to do your job.
And a tough job it is, as all you have are your wits. But that should be more than enough!

Role details: You have no abilities.

Side: Pro-town

Victory conditions: You win when there are only pro-town players remaining.

Player: Imaginary Mark

Name: James Bond (Daniel Craig)

Role: Cop

Role description: Who cares if you are short and have blond hair? You are James motha-friggin' BOND! You have learned from the best, and
carry a license to kill. While you respect your predecessors, you're the one running the show. Time to show them what you're made of!

Role details: You may investigate a player each night. A viewing will return a result of guilty (anti-town) or innocent (pro-town).

If you become the HSO, you lose the ability to view.

Side: Pro-town

Victory conditions: You win when there are only pro-town players remaining.

Player: Trillian

Name: Q

Role: Inventor

Role description: Bond might get the glory, but you're the real hero. From Ghetto Blasters to Dentonite toothpaste, your inventions have saved the world
many times over. Hopefully you can come up with something to save the day this time!

Role details: Every morning (starting on day 2) You will recieve an item from me that you've invented during the night. You may use
these items yourself or give them to other players.

Rules regarding gadgets:

1) You are not obligated to use or pass along anything you create.

2) You may only use one item per night. PM me with your choice.

3) You may only pass one item per night. To pass an item to another player, PM me at night with the gadget you want to pass, and who it goes to.
The following morning, I will let the player know he has possession of the item. Your identity will remain hidden, but along
with the item will be instructions which start by saying, "Now pay attention!"

4) You may both use and pass different items on the same night, if you have them.

If you become the HSO, you lose the ability to invent, use, or pass gadgets.

Role details: You may target one player each night and protect them from any and all night kills. You may not protect yourself, nor protect the same person on consecutive nights.

If you become the HSO, you lose the ability to protect people.

Side: Pro-town

Victory conditions: You win when there are only pro-town players remaining.

Player: Matt

you, which takes precedence. It seems there is a serial killer on the loose. And it's up to you to stop him.

Role details: You may investigate a player each night. The result will either be serial killer, or not the serial killer. If at any point the serial killer is lynched or night killed, you turn into a normal cop.

If this happens, you may investigate a player each night. A viewing will return a result of guilty (anti-town) or innocent (pro-town).

I will PM you if/when you are to assume your new role.

Role description: An ex-KGB agent turned russian mobster, you were once an enemy of Bond (he did give you a limp and steal your girl, after all) but now have an almost cordial
working relationship with him. Letting SPECTRE win is bad for your business, after all.

Role details: The good news - You still have some underworld contacts. However, they are limited. You may protect yourself from a mafia night kill by going underground twice in the game. You must PM me as a night move stating you wish to use up a protection. Whether needed or not, the protection is used up.

The bad news - As a result of your criminal background, for the purposes of viewing, you are seen as guilty (anti-town).

If you become the HSO, you lose the ability to go underground.

Side: Pro-town

Victory conditions: You win when there are only pro-town players remaining.

However, you are both prohibited from roleclaiming as Masons to the town.

If you or Garcia become the HSO, you both lose the ability to PM at night.

Side: Pro-town

Victory conditions: You win when there are only pro-town players remaining.

Player: LuisGarcia

Name: Plenty O'Toole

Role details: You know another bond girl, Honey Ryder (Spenser) is helping out, and at night you two may PM each other and discuss the days events.

However, you are both prohibited from roleclaiming as Masons to the town.

Side: Pro-town

Victory conditions: You win when there are only pro-town players remaining.

Player: Th1nk3r

Name: Tiger Tanaka

Role: Townie

Role description: A former kamikaze pilot, and current head of the Japanese Secret service. You have the l33t skillz of a ninja. Even though you hate western culture,
you know no one will be safe if SPECTRE wins the day.

Role details: You have no special abilities.

Side: Pro-town

Victory conditions: You win when there are only pro-town players remaining.

The Bad

Player: Tears in the Rain

Name: Ernst Stavro Blofeld

Role: Mafia Godfather, Head of SPECTRE

Role description: You are an evil genius and leader of SPECTRE. James Bond has been a thorn in your side long enough, and this time you're playing for keeps.
You have brought in some heavy hitters to help take out MI6. Nothing can stop your malfeasance! MUHAHAHAHAHHA!

Role details: You initially have two subordinates: Dr. No (SkepticTank), mafia goon and Max Zorin (Jacey), mafia goon. Each night (and only at night), you are allowed to PM them and discuss who you want to kill.

One of you must be chosen to perform the night kill. As the godfather, you will normally be viewed as pro-town - unless you are performing the night kill. Then you will be viewed as anti town.

A nightly kill is not required. However, if you personally perform a night kill, you will leave a calling card on the corpse - your cat will leave his mark, in one form or another.

Additionally: You know there is a hitman (mafia recruit) for hire out there. Unfortunately, you don't know his identity. If you learn it (or think you know it), you may try to recruit him.

You, or another mafia member, must do so in the game thread by typing "Why don't you join us, [player name]"

(It must be verbatim, and in italics) For example, if you think I'm the recruit, you would type

"Gosh, I think we are on to something, we just need one more vote. Why don't you join us, Ambivalent?"

If you have found the right person, he will join your side as a full fledged mafia member of SPECTRE, with the ability to kill at night.

This is a one shot deal - if you or one of your allies guess wrong, you may not try to recruit later, even if you know their identity. I'll leave it to you to figure out how to do it and not get lynched.

Unlike some other games, neither you nor your mafia mates are inherently immune from other night kills (Sk, Vig, etc). So be careful!

If you become the HSO, you lose the ability to night kill and communicate with your team.

Side: Mafia (anti-town)

Victory conditions: You win when only the mafia and their allies remain.

Because I am a beneficial Mod, I will give you one small tip: Not all the 007's are in the game. Do with that what you will.

Player: SkepticTank

Name: Dr. Julius No

Role: Mafia goon, member of SPECTRE

Role description: You are a brilliant scientist with a serious axe to grind, and metal hands to help. It's time to rule the world, and this time you have some powerful friends.
SPECTRE will reign supreme!

Role details: You intitally have two allies: Ernst Stavro Blofeld (Tears In The Rain), Mafia Godfather, and Max Zorin (Jacey) mafia goon. Each night (and only at night), you are allowed to PM them and discuss who you want to kill.

One of you must be chosen to perform the night kill. The godfather (Tears) is viewed as pro town, unless he performs the night kill - then he is viewed as anti town. Night killing is not required. If you personally perform the night kill, you will leave a calling card. Your victims will be killed by your metal hands in one way or another.

Player: Jacey

Name: Max Zorin

Role: Mafia goon, member of SPECTRE

Role description: A French businessman who has been made almost super human through Nazi medical experimentation. Unfortunately, it also made you a bit crazy. So you've decided to hold the world hostage, and you've joined SPECTRE to do it!

Role details: You intially have two allies: Ernst Stavro Blofeld (Tears In The Rain), the Mafia Godfather, and Dr. No (SkepticTank) mafia goon.

You will kill your victims with your Epee, for example.

If you become the HSO, you lose the ability to night kill and communicate with your team.

Side: Mafia (anti-town)

Victory conditions: You win when only mafia and their allies remain.

Player: Pavlov's Dog
Name:Oddjob

Role: Mafia Recruit

Role description: You had it made. Working for Goldfinger was the life, and James Bond took it all away! With your employer gone, you are in the market for work.
Preferably, something that involves killing 007's.

Role details: You know SPECTRE is out there, but you don't know who they are. You would love nothing more than getting your job as a hit-man back, so you must try to let them know who you are without arousing too much suspicion. If at any time, you see a message on the boards saying "Why don't you join us, Pavlov's Dog" (it must be verbatim, and in italics) then they have successfully recruited you, and you will join them as a full fledged mafia member of SPECTRE.

I will PM you if all the criteria have been met. If that occurs, I will update you with your new role.

Side: Mafia, but viewed as Pro-town until converted; then viewed as Anti-town.

Victory conditions: You win when only the Mafia and their allies remain.

Player: Sentinel

Name: Brad Whitaker

Role: Traitor

Role description: Once aspiring to a military career at West Point, your dismal failure (kick ME out for cheating, will they?) left you jaded, and you turned to a life of crime. Fascinated with war, you took up arms dealing. War and conflict are good for business. While not officially a member of SPECTRE (and unsure of their identities), you sure hope they win.

Role details: You have no special powers, but you must do your best to help SPECTRE avoid the lynch.

Side: Mafia, and viewed as anti-town

Victory conditions: You win when only the Mafia and their allies remain.

The Insane

Player: Bradshaw

Name: Alexander Trevelyan

Role: Serial Killer

Role description: You are 006. The British betrayed your parents, and you joined the Secret Service in part, to get back at the government.
Once a close friend to 007, he betrayed you on a mission in Russia, and now all MI6 will pay. And then the mayhem can truly begin!
However, you can't let SPECTRE interfere with your plans. They must be eliminated as well.

Role details: You may attempt a kill every night, but it is not required. If you make a successful kill, a calling card will be left, saying "For England, James!"
You know from your contacts in MI6 that not all of the 007's have been reactivated - while you do not know who, you know there are only 4.

Unlike some games, there is no role in this game that is inherently immune from your kill. However, people can be protected from your kill.

If you become the HSO, you lose the ability to night kill.

Side: Your own. On nights you do not kill, you are viewed as pro-town. On night you do kill, you are viewed as anti-town.

Personal victory condition: You win when all 007's have been eliminated, and all members of SPECTRE have been eliminated.

If you meet your win condition, the game might still continue, as there are other factions. Even if you die after the fact, you still get credit for the win.

Great recap. It was fun to read!

And kudos to you for GMing this game. You have certainly set a high bar for the ones to follow this one! :D

I really could have used some of those other gadgets though. Right when I needed a good one, I got that damn worthless lighter! gah!

Yeah sorry for killing you thinker. you jumped on me immediately and I couldn't decide who to kill on day one. so it seemed prudent to choose the person attacking me. Just bad luck on your part, I suppose.

It made sense to me to play that way, because i was suspicious you were bad and being aggressive about it got me on your radar... i wasn't special, so any kill wasted on me bought the specials another day. If it helped the good guys win, it was a good play, even if it got me killed too fast. :(

Jacey, you played it well. I didn't expect you to last nearly as long as you did.
